Autumn Blanchard is a sixth-grader and received three citations from cops for cutting across a neighbor's lawn to get to her bus stop.
Her mother Krystal said, "I am beyond distressed. I can't imagine why it had to go to this level. Someone should have spoken to me."
She said she didn't receive a heads-up from anyone that this was an issue and thinks her daughter was targeted because she has blue and purple hair.
The chief of police agrees that cops should've spoken to the family before giving out a citation.
