Millennials are saying no to marriage more than any previous generation. If the trend continues, more than 30% of Millennial women will be unmarried by age 40, twice the share of Gen X'ers.
Reasons? More Americans are just simplly living together, and more young people feel they need to get their career in order first.
Is there a downside to this? There could be a hit to the economy. Married couples tend to be better off and therefore spend more, and singles tend not to buy homes, or trade up to accommodate a growing family.
