Meet Deanna!
She is an extraordinary 13-year-old who happens to have Down Syndrome. She is always determined to show the world how far she’ll go.
Dede was born with a heart defect and had open heart surgery shortly after birth. Despite her medical struggles and setbacks, she continues to smile and lights up every room she’s in.
Although, she has to work harder than most kids her age spending countless hours in therapy to help reach her goals, she continues to thrive. Every milestone is an accomplishment and she always makes everyone proud.
Like a fish in the water, swimming is her happy place. She also enjoys playing soccer and gymnastics with her friends. She’s sassy and just like every girl she loves to be pampered with makeup, getting her nails done, and dressing up.
Dede gives hope and shows that so many things are possible for kids with Down Syndrome. She encourages us to focus on abilities and not the disabilities of those with special needs. Her bravery and strength is an inspiration to everyone in the world.
We're taking Dede and her family to Disney with the help of Kroger, Planet Fitness, Canterbury Village, Masco, Hollywood Casino at Greektown, Emagine Entertainment, Absopure, DFCU Financial and Angels of Hope.
