Meet Nathanael!
His medical journey started at 6-months-old when his parents started noticing a deformity in his right leg. His doctor sent him for X-Ray’s and found out he had psudoarthrosis. This is very rare and can be a symptom of the genetic condition Neurofibromatosis type 1.
After meeting with a geneticist, he received an official diagnosis. NF1 is a condition that can cause tumors to grow along your nerves, so Nathanael has to be monitored with MRI’s of his spine and brain. He has to have his eyes checked more regularly to check for any growths on his optical nerves.
Nathanael has had 10 surgeries some major, some minor. He has had a rod in his leg since he was 10 months. The amazing team from Children’s hospital in Detroit helps take great care of him .
Nathanael is an all around incredible boy. He loves the Avengers, Star Wars and the Transformers. He dreams of building robots when he grows up. Nate is in first grade and is a very good reader but his favorite thing at school is recess. At home, he loves playing superheroes with his big sister.
We're taking Nate's whole family to Disney with Jay's Juniors with the help of Kroger, Planet Fitness, Canterbury Village, Masco, Hollywood Casino at Greektown, Emagine Entertainment, Absopure, DFCU Financial and Angels of Hope.
