Meet Tiffany!
She was born with multiple complex congenital heart defects. Only half of her heart was functioning and the great vessels were in the wrong places so her blood flow did not allow oxygen to get to her organs. Her team of cardiac superheroes performed three open heart surgeries over her first three years to repair this but ultimately when Tiffany was seven her heart just wasn’t able to keep on the way things were so she was placed on the list for a heart transplant.
We planned for months of waiting while being hospitalized but by the grace of God, just one week later, there was a perfect match for her and she got it that night. The next month was full of very difficult and worrisome ups and downs but she never stopped fighting and eventually was strong enough to learn to eat, speak and walk again.
Added up, she has spent at least one whole year of her life in the hospital but you would never know any of this by looking at her. She really is a true miracle.
Tiffany returned home in June 2021 just in time for her 8th birthday. She is now in second grade and has gone back to in person school after two years of being homeschooled. She loves swimming, horseback riding, baking, Roblox of course.
