Meet James!

Meet James!

He is a 3 year old boy who is full of love, bravery, and a beautiful soul.

James is an extraordinary miracle. At 4 months old he received his gift of life, a precious heart. Prior to his transplant, his failing heart lead to other major organs to show similar signs, causing a rapid decrease in overall health. Once the surgery was over, you could immediately see improvements in other organs. He spent a total of 161 days from birth in the hospital before he was able to come home. He is a young and thriving boy, however, part of the life of being a transplant recipient is facing common illness with difficulty due to a suppressed immune system. Which means more frequent and sometimes extended hospital stays and doctor visits, including 9 different specialty doctor visits yearly, but he is our sickness-fighting superhero, and always will be.

James is bursting with life, an unforgettable personality, and has a ton of funny faces. His nickname is often “silly goose” because he is always spreading laughter throughout the room with the widest grin on his face.. He says he wants to be a fireman when he is older, but I believe he will be a Director. He is always the host of the party, and making the family plans throughout the day. Dancing is one of his loves along with anything that has wheels on it, specifically school buses. He has never been to Disney World, and he is most excited to go as a family to find Pluto!

One of the greatest blessings is being so close to James’s donor family. They are the most wonderful people we’ve had the pleasure of sharing life with and so much love and so many connections are shared between all of us, that we consider them part of our family. We are going on this trip in honor of their sweet and beautiful daughter.
