It’s a day of golf, food and fun that helps to make sick children’s wishes come true. For the second year in a row, golfers from all over the area will hit the links at Rolling Meadows Golf Course on Sutton Road in Whitmore Lake for an all day outing to raise money and awareness for Make-A-Wish Michigan. The event, sponsored by Gordon Chevrolet on Ford Road in Garden City, will take place on June 2nd. Beginning at 9am, four person teams will tee off for 18 holes. In addition to a full day on the greens, golfers will be treated to a grab and go hot dog lunch, auction items, raffle drawings and dinner provided by Chicken Shack.Susan Ianni, the general manager of Gordon Chevrolet, has committed the dealership to being a big part of this charity golf outing every year because of a special connection to Make-A-Wish Michigan. Several years ago her granddaughter, Lucy, was diagnosed with ALL, a form of leukemia. Accompanying her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter to medical appointments, Ianni saw first-hand how physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting treatments can be. She also witnessed how Make-A-Wish Michigan provided a boost to families, giving them something to look forward to. “We’re like a family at Gordon Chevrolet and we have a special place in our hearts for Michigan families with sick children. We hope golfers will come out, make a day of it, enjoy the beautiful course and help grant wishes to kids battling life threatening illnesses,” says Ianni.Tickets for the event are $260 dollars per foursome and can be purchased in advance. To sign up or make a donation contact Susan Ianni at 734-458-5227 or Sheri Barber at Gordon Chevrolet at 734-427-6200 or email sbarber@gordonchevrolet.com.
