Louis Tomlinson still has hard feelings about the way Zayn left One Direction.

Earlier this month, the 26-year-old spoke with Metro about how he handled his former bandmate quitting the band four years ago. When asked whether he was ready to "forgive" Zayn for leaving the group, the "Back to You" replied, “I just don’t think I am mature enough, even in my own head, to give that a real answer.”

“At the moment, I am still pretty mad about the whole thing. I don’t think he [Zayn] handled it very well,” Tomlinson added. “But never say never. Who knows? He chatted a lot of s*** in the early days. I thought One Direction were pretty good.”

As fans can recall, Zayn left One Direction in March 2015 to pursue a solo career. While the decision to leave was seemingly amicable on the surface, tensions rose between Tomlinson and Zayn after the two engaged in a heated back-and-forth on Twitter involving the latter's music producer, Naughty Boy.

Given where Tomlinson currently stands with Zayn, a reconciliation doesn't seem to be in the group's future. The same could be said for the "Dusk Till Dawn" artist, who told British Vogue that he made no friends within the group and hasn't spoken to the boys in a long time.

The boys' alleged feud comes nearly a year after Zayn released his 2018 track “Good Years,” which many 1D fans interpreted as a diss record aimed at the other members. What’s more, fans believed Tomlinson addressed Zayn and the song in a subliminal tweet which read: "Proper confused. What a hypocrite!"
