Ex-Con Tries To Kidnap Sleeping Woman Off New York City Subway

An ex-convict from New York City is under arrest after he allegedly tried to kidnap a woman on a subway train in the Bronx. A passenger on the train recorded as the man, dressed in all red, snatched a sleeping woman from her seat and carried her off the train.

The woman started screaming for help and managed to escape his grasp and got back onto the subway car. The woman told her companion, who was also asleep, that the man tried to grab her. He stopped the subway door from closing and confronted the suspect. While the woman pointed him out, a crowd gathered on the train, and the suspect calmly walked away.

A few hours later, a group of vigilantes managed to track down the suspect, identified as Sonny Alloway, 48. Despite ditching his red coat, the group recognized him and started beating him. Alloway managed to seek shelter inside a nearby bodega. While he was hiding from the group, somebody called 911.

When the police arrived, they recognized Alloway from the video of his attempt to abduct the woman off the train and took him into custody. He was taken to a local hospital where he received treatment for bumps and bruises. He is facing charges of unlawful imprisonment.
