How Meghan Markle & Prince Harry 'Reset' On Break After A 'Turbulent Year'

CHOGM London 2018 - Day 4

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made waves when they announced they'd be spending the holidays abroad instead of attending Queen Elizabeth's annual Christmas celebration at Sandringham. Not only did the travel overseas for the holidays, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also took a six week hiatus from their official royal duties.

According to a royal insider, the break was just what Meghan and Harry needed after a challenging 2019. “They’re using their time off to reset and spend quality time as a family,” the source told Us Weekly. “After a turbulent year, it’s just what the doctor ordered.”

Meghan and Harry, along with their infant son Archie, reportedly traveled to Canada for their sabbatical. They spent some time in Toronto first, which is where Meghan lived for 7 years while filming the legal drama Suits. The Sussexes spent some time with Meghan's close friends, including her BFF Jessica Mulroney, before traveling to Vancouver to meet up with Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland.

Though the couple were reportedly denied a dining reservation at a restaurant in Vancouver, they've also been spotted out and about in the area on walks and hikes. Despite one minor setback, it sounds like the Duke and Duchess are enjoying their time off.
