It was a mini Sex and the City reunion on the Are You A Charlotte? podcast this week when Cynthia Nixon joined host Kristin Davis to chat about the groundbreaking series and share surprising revelations about its start.

Nixon appeared as a guest on the February 23 episode of Davis' SATC rewatch podcast for a lengthy chat reminiscing on fond memories and covered topics like how she almost wasn't Miranda on the series. During the conversation, Nixon also revealed that she originally thought Davis' character of Charlotte was going to be portrayed by a different Kristin.

"Sarah [Jessica Parker] and I knew each other quite well," she said. "We'd worked together a bunch of times, and we were always auditioning for the same parts and stuff when were kids. And Kim [Cattrall] I knew a little bit."

Though she went into the 1998 pilot knowing most of the women who would portray her best friends on the show, she wasn't as familiar with Davis, who at the time was best known for her role on Melrose Place, per People. In fact, she thought the role was going to a completely different person, British actress Kristin Scott Thomas.

"I didn't know who you were, but I looked at the way you spelled your first name with an 'i,' which is unusual — with two is. And I basically — I decided you were Kristin Scott Thomas," she said, as Davis quipped, "You must have been really disappointed."

Nixon told her friend that she was glad the misunderstanding was quickly cleared up.

"That's adorable that you thought you were going to do the pilot of Sex and the City with Kristin Scott Thomas. I mean, I wish I was Kristin Scott Thomas," Davis said, to which Nixon replied, "I don't wish you were. No, I'm glad you're you."
