ESPN sports betting analyst Erin Dolan issued a warning to her Instagram followers in relation to alleged incidents in which fans were solicited under the guise that they were communicating with her.

“Alright. Enough is enough,” Dolan wrote in a statement on her Instagram Story. “I have TikTok, Instagram and Twitter @erinkatedolan. All verified. That’s it.

“I would never reach out to anyone for money. I would never sell photos or videos. I would never speak to strangers on the phone. Despite turning off my DMs to not intake this nonsense, people still find a way to reach out letting me know these things are happening. I assure you, it’s not me. It’s called AI. Welcome to 2025.”

Dolan isn't the first female sports media personality to have dealt with this issue as golf influencer Paige Spiranac also issued a warning to her fans about being catfished by others using her photos.

“Is the message coming from my verified account? If so, it is me,” Spiranac said in a since-deleted Instagram post from 2022.

“Is the message coming from an account under my name that has zero followers, it is not me, that is a fake account,” she continued.

Dolan joined ESPN as a sports betting analyst in 2021 and regularly appears on ESPN BET Live and Sunday NFL Countdown and had previously contributed to FanDuel and PointsBet sportsbooks' on-air coverage, according to her ESPN Press Room bio.
