Meet Andrew!

Meet Andrew!

He is 5 years old, and has a mutation of his GRIN1 gene. Unfortunately, this gene affects the receptors in his brain that are responsible for memory and learning, and the mutation has caused a lot of health issues and 24-hour care. He has multiple seizures every day that have so far been uncontrollable. He has very little muscle tone, and cannot hold his head up, walk, reach, etc. He is in a wheelchair, cannot talk, and has a feeding tube as well. He also has many respiratory issues that mean a small cold can easily turn into a lengthy hospital stay.

Knowing everything he deals with makes it shocking to see how happy he is all of the time. He loves going to school, and being around lots of people. Anytime someone is talking to him, playing with him, etc.. he is working really hard to show us how much he enjoys the attention. His face lights up when he hears his siblings nearby, as they are his absolute favorite people.

He's going to Disney World thanks to Kroger, Planet Fitness, Canterbury Village, Masco, Hollywood Casino at Greektown, Emagine Entertainment, Absopure, DFCU Financial and Angels of Hope.
